Reece McLeod Team Wins Nicklaus Flight, Ken Dorman Team Tops the Palmer Division, and Chip Wetherell Team Edges Tom Savage team in a 4-hole Player Playoff!! The 2026 Tour of the Brookfields FINALS Results

The 2026 TOB Season is in the books. We successfully beat out a massive nor’easter to get in the last 18 holes of the season for the FINALS. We did have a little rain, and a LOT of putt-moving wind – let alone how it moved all of the other shots.

The event was held on Saturday, September 26th at Quail Hollow Golf and Country Club in Oakham, MA. We had more golfers in the FINALS this year – 115. on 29 teams in 3 different divisions. Unfortunately we had one no-show.

In all, five places in each division were awarded cash, which worked out to 17/29 teams. There were a huge number of skins – 17 in total across the three divisions. And we had 4 more teams win in the closest to the pin replacement drawing. So 25 teams won something. Below I’ll focus on first and second places. Let’s get into the results!

Nicklaus Division

In the top division, Nicklaus, the team of Reece McLeod, Matt Morrow, Ed McLeod, and, Lynn Morin won. They secured the victory by a single stroke by coming in at a hard-fought 9-under par. This was the best score of the FINALS tournament. Close behind them were two teams tied at second place at 8-under par:

Matt Paakkonen, Mike Kularski, Jerry Parker, and Spencer Rice
Fran LaMothe, Dave Fiske, Brian Chaffee, and Mark Bruso

Well done all!

Player Division

In the middle Player Division, there was a tie between two teams at 7-under par after 18 holes of windy and sometimes rainy golf. This led to a dramatic 4-hole sudden-death playoff on the 18th hole. Coming out on top after this battle was the team of Chip Wetherell, Jake Malin, Norm Laliberte, and Susan Benoit!

Chip’s team edged out the valiant foursome who took second place. That team’s members were: Tom Savage, John Markey, Nancy Shores, and Jim Parker.

Congrats to both teams!

Palmer Division

Lastly, in the Palmer Division, the team of Ken Dorman, Denis Miner, Marcy Kimball, and Connor Hibbard achieved victory with a two-stroke lead over their next competitor. They achieved a score of 6-under par.

In second place, at 4-under par, was the team of Jim Gregoire, Rich Ford, Sr., Mike Mills, and Jason McCarthy.

A great job by both!

We did not have closest to the pin contests this year – instead we had four drawings – and the winners are also listed below as are the Skins won by division. Next Year and Some Photos

We hope to have all of our players return next year plus some more. Recruit a few yourselves! When we know some details, we will share it with you on the Facebook page and in this blog. The Committee hopes to meet before the snow flies to capture any lessons learned and make next year even better!

One thing we are possibly looking at is a mid-year “Grand Tour of the Brookfields“. This would replace the FINALS as our annual big event and would include a player draft night similar to the FINALS. The difference would be that we would have some flexibility with regards to the weather we face in late-September and early October. With the FINALS as we have been doing it – we have little to no backup dates – whereas a mid-year event like a “Grand Tour of the Brookfields” would give us that. Like I said, nothing is set yet, but if we go in that direction we may need to set qualifications that are different in terms of events played. So stay tuned.

By the way, next year marks the 47th year of the TOB!! Here are the event dates for next year – sponsors TBD as we flush out any changes in format. Of course – a draft night is TBD depending on what we decide to do. All are on Saturdays – plaeas mark your calendars:

Gareau Team Tops Nicklaus Flight, Kettles Team Wins in Player Playoff, and Pierce Team Annihilates the Palmer Division!! The 2025 Tour of the Brookfields FINALS Results

What an amazing final we had for the 2025 Tour of the Brookfields! It was held on Saturday, September 27th at Quail Hollow Golf and Country Club in Oakham, MA. We had 107 golfers. on 27 teams in 3 different flights. Let’s get into the results!

In the top flight, the Nicklaus flight, the team of Tom Gareau, Nelson Malin, Jared Danitis, and Lisa Persson won. They secured the victory by two strokes by coming in at a super 12-under par. Well done!

In the middle flight, there was a tie between two teams at -12. Team members were: Todd Allen, Paul Boulette, George Fiske, Doug Brown. The members of the opposing tied team were Adam Kettles, Ron McCann, Jarred Dandurrant, Ed Sanborn. A playoff of one hole would ensue with Adam Kettles dropping a 15-footer to win first place. Congrats to both teams!

Lastly, in the Palmer Flight, the team of Amanda Pierce, Jason Malin, Mark Bruso, and Jim Parker absolutely dominated. They achieved a score of 13-under par! This was the best score of the FINALS tournament. It also tied the best score by any team for the entire season, and won by 4 strokes. An absolutely stunning performance – wow!

The 308 Lakeside Open of 2025 (Tour of the Brookfields)

Our fourth regular season TOB event at Quail Hollow Golf & Country Club in Oakham, MA was held on the morning of Saturday, July 26th, 2025. This was the 2025 308 Lakeside Open sponsored by 308 Lakeside restaurant. We had 96 players on 24 teams in three divisions.

Weather was once again in our favor – which was nice. We had several new players – and welcome to all of you! There are two more regular season TOB’s before the FINALS. All are at Quail Hollow Golf & Country Club:

Saturday, August 16th: Hardwick Crossing Open
Sunday, September 7th: Lamoureaux Ford Open
Saturday, September 27th: THE FINALS

In order to qualify to play in THE FINALS, a player must have signed up to participate in three TOB’s. For example, those who signed up for the originally rained-out TOB in April, get credit for participating as one event. You can sign up to play at Still Harts Cafe, Quail Hollow, or on the TOB Facebook page.

2025 308 Lakeside Open Results

There were some excellent scores this time – and several teams in each division had a shot at the top place. For the first time this year, there were no playoffs.

In the Nicklaus Flight, the team of Jack Dorman, Dennis Trela, Brian Lacroix, and Deb Durgin won with a great score of 11-under par! Just one shot back in second place was the team of Josh Russell, Tom Waugh, Jay Gregory, and Cathy Patchen. Congrats to both for hitting double-digits under par!

In the Player Flight, yet another team won by scoring in double-digits under par! At -11 was the team of Ron McCann, Brandon McEvoy, Jason McCarthy, and Mark Bruso. Outstanding!

In second place were two teams at -8:

Adam Kettles, John DeSimone, Jarred Dandurant, and Leo Forget
Matt DeSimone, Stan Nolin, Matt McLeod, and Marcy Kimball

In the Palmer Flight, at 9-under par, the team of Ed McLeod, Bill Gaudette, Tom McCarthy, and April Pagnoni came out on top! Close behind them tied for second were two teams at -7. These teams were:

Shane Higgins, Ron Jette, Joe Pagnoni, and Kathleen Soltys
Beth McCann, Nelson Malin, Rick Gemme, and Jim Parker

Superb golf by all there!

As for skins, this was amazingly competitive. We ONLY had one this time – and that skin was a birdie on the par-four tenth hole. The team walking away with all of the skin money was Amanda Pierce, Paul Boulette, Ted Balicki, and Eddie Kosla. Great job!

As for closest to the pin, that award went to Ron Jette and his team with a distance of 4 feet, 4 inches.

IMPORTANT!!!

The next tournament is in August on the 16th. It is a Saturday. It will be the Hardwick Crossing Open sponsored by Hardwick Crossing Country Club. It is held at Quail Hollow.

Sign ups will be coming down VERY QUICKLY – closing on August 10th.

This event will also be VERY well-attended, so sign up early at Still Harts, at Quail Hollow, or on the Tour of the Brookfields Facebook page!

Again, you can sign up for this event up until August 1oth. Teams will be published by the committee on August 13th.

Remember, to qualify as a player for the FINALS on September 27th, playing three events is the normal needed threshold (with a very few exceptions).

Registration on August 16th will start at 7 AM, so please arrive before 7:30 AM.

Second, if you want to sign up, PLEASE use one of the three sign up opportunities (Still Harts, at Quail Hollow, or on event section of the Tour of the Brookfields Facebook page). Texts do get lost or buried…so please use the lists.

Lastly, if you write your name down on the closest to the pin list, MAKE SURE WE CAN READ IT AND THE DISTANCE! If we cannot read it, well…you might lose out…
