On Saturday, August 29th, the Tour of the Brookfields held our 6th and last 2026 regular season event – the Lamoureux Ford Open at Quail Hollow Golf & Country Club in Oakham, MA. Once again, the golf weather and the course were both wonderful!

Our sponsor was Lamoureux Ford in East Brookfield, MA. Thank you all so much for your longtime support of the Tour of the Brookfields.

We had another big turnout. There were 103 players on 26 teams that were competing in our regular three divisions.

We also had some spectacular results – leading to not one but two divisions in playoffs for top honors. In addition, two new records for outstanding low scores were set at MINUS 14!

Certainly a nice prelude to the highly anticipated FINALS coming up in September. More on that in a bit.

The Nicklaus and Player divisions both ended up in sudden death playoffs, which were very exciting. There were also many skins won. Amazingly, there were a whopping 19 skins won in total across the 3 divisions…to include 10 eagles and 8 birdies…that’s a lot of skins won.

2026 Lamoureux Ford Open Results

Nicklaus Division

Did we EVER have a more hotly contested fight for first place? I think not – as there were two teams that shot -14 in the Nicklaus Division.

Just to be clear, NO OTHER SINGLE TEAM in 2026 shot that low – and in this event we had two do it. Both fought it out in a playoff for top billing. In the end, the team of Rick Lindsten, Rich Johnson, John McQuaid, and Denis Minor narrowly defeated the team of Reece McLeod, Kevin Kokansky, Paul Wyman, and Lynn Morin after two playoff holes. Really awesome performance by both teams and kudos to both, but special congrats to the winning team!

Player Division

In the Player Division, we had yet another hard-fought round. Two teams were tied after 18 holes at 7-under par. That tie led to a two playoff hole sudden death contest. Coming out on top after the two sudden death holes was the team of Gary Ward, Dan Foley, Patty Kularski, and Barbara Orszulak! Well done!

Close on their tails in the playoff was the team of Ed Erickson, Dave Russell, George Fiske, and Jeff McLeod. Once again we had two amazing performances, and kudos to the winning team!

Palmer Division

In the Palmer Division, the team of Matt Desimone, Paul Boulette, Rich Casault, and Russ Emerson ran away with first place at 10-under par. In second place three strokes back at 7-under par was the team of Jim Gregoire, Dave Fiske, Matt McLeod, and Mike McCarthy.

Skins and Closest to the Pin on the 17th Hole

There was the usual bonus skins contest within each division. There were a whopping 18 total skins awarded: five in the Nicklaus Division, six in the Player Division, and 8 in the Palmer Division.

Reece McLeod was the winner of the closest to the pin contest at 7′ 9″.

THE NEXT EVENT IS THE FINALS ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 26th!

SIGN UPS CLOSE QUICKLY – ON SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 13th!

Key dates to remember:

• Sunday, September 13th – sign up lists come down at Quail Hollow, Still Harts, and Facebook. Sign up ASAP!
• Sunday, September 20th – the committee meets to determine the A players, the A player rankings (the order of draft picks), and the unranked pools of B, C, and D players for the draft. Those pools will be published here in this blog that night. Additionally, a consolidated list of all 6 tournament results will be also in that blog post. That gives A players a start on their due diligence at developing their draft pick strategies.
• Thursday, September 24th at 7 PM at Quail Hollow – DRAFT NIGHT! All who want the best chances for their teams should attend, not just the A players. After all, YOU know players that the A player who selected you in the draft may not. Also, the paramutual pools will open upon the completion of the draft. We also will do the drawings for $100 and a free entry to the FINALS for those eligible at the DRAFT on Thursday night. I will publish the drafted teams here in this blog either late Thursday night or Friday morning.
• Friday, September 25th – I should have posted the drafted teams here.
• Saturday, September 26th – THE FINALS! Note that all paramutual choices MUST be in prior to tee off. Registration will open at 8:00 AM – YOU MUST ARRIVE BEFORE 8:30 AM!
• The registration cost is $200/player or $180 for Quail Hollow members.

As announced by Matt Desimone, there is an OUTSTANDING added benefit this year from his company. That is a hole-in-one on the 4th hole will earn that player $25,000!

Yes, $25,000!

SO sign up if you want in! All fully qualified players (who have played in 3 events) will be entered – but even if you have played in just two events – sign up – if you want in –SIGN UP – we always need to round off teams. The committee will decide if we can accomodate your addition to the field.

Now, if there is any chance that you cannot play due to health reasons or whatever – PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP!! We know last minute changes happen, but its a TON of work to set up the pools – which is also why we encourage players to sign up who have played in just two events, as that helps us round out teams.

But if you know you are going to Timbuktu for a surgery that will keep you from playing – well, be reasonable!

As a reminder, being a no show at the FINALS is usually cause for a permanent ban for the offending player. It’s too important and not fair to no show.
