The 2026 Hardwick Crossing Open Golf Results (Tour of the Brookfields)

On Saturday, August 1st, 2026, the Tour of the Brookfields held our 5th regular season event – the Hardwick Crossing Open at Quail Hollow Golf & Country Club in Oakham, MA. Once again, we had perfect golf weather and the course was in spectacular shape!

Our sponsor was Hardwick Crossing Country Club in Gilbertville, MA. Turnout was excellent, as we had 104 players on 26 teams that were competing in our regular three divisions. As is our norm, play was VERY competitive. While we had no playoffs, as you will see, many teams were in striking distance of winning – and the differences of victory were 2 strokes, 3 strokes, and 1 stroke in the three divisions. There were also many skins won – 16 in total.

Let’s get to the results!

2026 Hardwick Crossing Open Results

Nicklaus Division

In the Nicklaus Division, the team of Reece McLeod, Doug Judd, George Fiske, and Russ Emerson shot a fantastic score of 11-under par to take top honors in the Nicklaus Division. They edged out not one but 4 teams that tied for 2nd place at 9-under par! Those four teams were:

  • Ken Jurczyk, Steve Whitman, Joe Pinto, and Leo Egan
  • Jacob McDonald, Jason McCarthy, Michael McCarthy, and Mark Bruso
  • Tom Gareau, Tom McCarthy, Patty Kularski, and Spencer Rice
  • Jack Dorman, Hoss Ford, Leo Forget, and Greg Wypych

Player Division

In the Player Division, the team of Cory Heyes, Rich Ford, Sr., Jim Gregoire, and Lisa Persson came out on top and set the 2026 record for the TOB with a jaw-dropping 13-under par.

WOW!

At 10-under par in second was the team of Tom Orszulak, Matt Desimone, Jarrod Dandurant, and Linda McLeod.

Palmer Division

In the Palmer Division, the team of Jim Wilson, Paul Davis, April Pagnoni, and Deb Durgin managed a 10-under par score that gave them a narrow one-stroke victory over two teams at 9-under par.

Those teams at 9-under par were:

  • Chip Wetherell, Rich Ferguson, Ed McLeod, and Tina Allen
  • Tom Savage, John Markey, Connor Hibbard, and Jay Gregory

Skins and Closest to the Pin on the 17th Hole

There was the usual skins contest within each division. There were a whopping 16 total skins awarded: eight in the Nicklaus Division, three in the Player Division, and five in both the Palmer Division.

The winners are as shown on the consolidated lists below.

Donnie Casey was the winner of the closest to the pin contest at just 10 inches!!! A near Ace that I was priviledged to see while on the 18th tee box!

Congratulations again to the winners and thanks to all the players!

Thenaks to Matt Paakkonen for running the Golf Genius program – here are how it determined skins.

The Next Tournament and Some Notes

Special thanks once again to Hardwick Golf and Country Club for their very appreciated sponsorship of this event.

Also, as always, a special thank you to Carl Fitz, Colleen Fitz, Matt Paakkonen, Tara and all the staff at Quail Hollow who work so hard to make the Tour of the Brookfields possible.

THE NEXT EVENT – THE LAST REGULAR SEASON EVENT – IS THIS MONTH – SATURDAY, AUGUST 29th. SIGN UP BY AUGUST 23RD!

The next tournament, our 6th and last regular tournament of 2026, is on Saturday, August 29th at Quail Hollow. It will be the Lamoureaux Ford Open – another very-highly attended event. The signups for this event will close on Sunday, August 23rd.

PLEASE SIGN UP EARLY!

Sign ups will be coming down on August 23rd or when we are full, which ever comes FIRST!

That usually happens VERY QUICKLY and we expect the event to fill up!

If you want in, sign up early at Still Harts, at Quail Hollow, or on the Tour of the Brookfields Facebook page! When its full, its full!

A FEW REQUESTS:

First, thanks everyone for being timely in arriving. It helps us to get going much faster, please keep that going! The committee members at the desk need to do a lot of work and then run to get ready to play golf. We ask that all arrive by – that means BEFORE – 7:30 AM.

Second, if you want to sign up, PLEASE use one of the three sign up opportunities (Still Harts, at Quail Hollow, or on the event section of the Tour of the Brookfields Facebook page). It’s not too much to ask to actually sign up!

Texts do sometimes get lost or buried…so please use the lists and sign up before the deadline!

Lastly, please at the end of the tournament when scoring is being done and results tabulated – please give the committee some space at the scoring table and at the score sheets. It takes time and effort to get it right – scoring results, skins, etc. We are collecting cards, and trying to double-check everything from scores to skins to closest-to-the-pin results. We know you want to know the results too – just please give us some space. Thanks in advance for understanding. We want to get you the results correctly and as quick as we can.

If you sign up and have to drop, please try to let us know by the Tuesday before the event. After we make teams when someone drops and that person could have let us know before we picked teams – well, that is a completely avoidable pain for the committee. I do try to post a list on Facebook of who has signed up right before we take the signups down. That way, folks can be reminded and helps to verify the list. PLEASE sign up early!

Remember, to qualify for the FINALS you need to play in at least three of the 6 regular season events. Just 1 events is left to play in before the FINALS – so plan accordingly!

As an FYI at this point: The FINALS DRAFT NIGHT will be on September 24th at 7 PM. The FINALS will be on Saturday, September 29th. The sign up for the FINALS will be posted at the Lamoureaux Ford Open registration desk when you arrive – and at the usual locations afterwards. We did not want to confuse the sign ups for that and the August 29th event, but we share this information so that you can plan accordingly.

Lastly, I managed to take a few photos:

A Few Photos:

Hope that these were fun to see.

Thanks again to all the players and we will see you soon!

REMEMBER – all updates on the results of our events can be found here on this blog throughout the year leading up to the FINALS!

If you have a favorite memory of the tournament, feel free to share it in the comments section. Feedback is always welcome – thanks in advance!

Hardwick Crossing Open 2025 (The Tour of the Brookfields)

The 2025 Hardwick Crossing Open was the August event for the Tour of the Brookfields. Our sponsor was Hardwick Crossing Golf Course.

It happened on August 16th at Quail Hollow Golf and Country Club in Oakham, MA. We had 92 players in three divisions. Apologies for this later post. I have switched from an HP PC to a Mac. There are some new things to learn!

Back to the event. Weather was once again great. Please note that we are getting to the end of the year already! There is JUST ONE more regular season event before the FINALS. All are at Quail Hollow Golf & Country Club:

  • Sunday, September 7th: Lamoureaux Ford Open
  • Saturday, September 27th: THE FINALS

To play in THE FINALS, a player must have signed up for three TOB events. For example, those who signed up for the originally rained-out TOB in April, get credit for participating as one event. You can sign up to play at Still Harts Cafe, Quail Hollow, or on the TOB Facebook page.

Back to the results from this year’s 2025 Hardwick Crossing Open. See the results and details below. You can get these updates automatically. Become an email subscriber to this blog. You can do this at the end of the blog post. The cost – nothing! It’s free!

2025 Hardwick Crossing Open Results

This event saw some of the best scores we have seen in a long time. For the second time this year, there were no playoffs. This was fortunate as we could not have had any playoffs due to another tournament right behind ours.

In the Nicklaus Flight, the team of Ken Jurczyk, Rich Johnson, Jared Danitis, and Mark Bruso achieved a new feat. They set the 2025 low scoring record with a great score of 13-under par! Incredible score!

Just two shots back in second place were three teams at -11:

  • Reece McLeod, Ron McCann, Wes Cassavant, and Sherry Peterson
  • Cory Heyes, John Markey, Matt Morrow, and Brian Leveille
  • James LeBlanc, Tom Foley, Robin Balicki, and Laurie Foley

Well done all!

In the Player Flight, yet another team won by scoring in double-digits under par! At -11 was the team of Tom Orszulak, Ed McLeod, Jake Malin, and Linda McLeod. Congrats!

Four teams tied for second place in the Player Flight at -7:

  • Gary Ward, Beth McCann, John McQuaid, and Dick LaPierre
  • Adam Kettles, Dean Malin, April Pagnoni, and Ed Sanborn
  • Ryan Auger, John Desimone, Rob Peterson, and Bob Ford
  • Kevin Paradis, Paul Boulette, Jim McKeon, and Barbara Orszulak

In the Palmer Flight, the team of Pete Peloquin, Sr, Brian LaCroix, Paul Sanborn, and Bob Weighill took top honors. They finished at 8-under par! Close behind them tied for second was just one team at -7.

That was the team of Brandon McEvoy, Rick Gemme, Kathleen Soltys, and Greg Wypych.teams at -7.

Superb golf by all!

As for skins, this was amazingly competitive. We changed the skins to compete by fight. As a result we had 13 skins that you will see in the chart below.

Lastly, the closest to the pin prize on the 17th hole was awarded to James LeBlanc and his team. Their distance was 4 feet, 5 inches.

Here are all of the results – first the overall results:

And the Skins:

Big congrats again to the winners and thanks to all the players!

The Next Tournament and Some Notes

Special thanks again to Hardwick Crossing Golf Course for their sponsorship of this event!

Also, as always, thank you to Carl Fitz and Jim LeBlanc. We also appreciate all the staff at Quail Hollow. They work so hard to make the Tour of the Brookfields possible.

IMPORTANT!!!

The next tournament is in September on the 7th.

It is a Sunday!!!

It will be the Lamoureux Ford Open sponsored by Lamoureux Ford.

Sign ups will be coming down VERY QUICKLY – closing on August 31st.

This event will also be VERY well-attended. Sign up early at Still Harts, at Quail Hollow, or on the Tour of the Brookfields Facebook page!

Again, you can sign up for this event up until August 31st. Teams will be published by the committee on September 3rd.

Remember, to qualify as a player for the FINALS on September 27th, you must play three events. This is the normal needed threshold, with very few exceptions.

Registration on Sunday, September 3rd will start at 7 AM, so please arrive before 7:30 AM.

PLEASE:

First, thanks everyone for being timely in arriving. It helps us to get going much faster, please keep that up.

Second, if you want to sign up, PLEASE use one of the three sign up opportunities. You can do this at Still Harts or at Quail Hollow. You may also sign up on the event section of the Tour of the Brookfields Facebook page. Texts do get lost or buried…so please use the lists.

Third, if you write your name down on the closest to the pin list, make sure we can read it. Also, ensure the distance is legible! If we cannot read it, well…you might lose out…

And finally, If you drop out for ANY reason after signing up, you need to message a committee member directly. We make teams on September 3rd. If you think you cannot play, please, please, please let us know before that date.

Lastly, I did get a few photos in as well – so enjoy!
